The Physically Disabled in Comics
It is fairly simple to see why the physically disabled are underrepresented in superhero comics. In a universe that revolves around displays of superhuman might or special powers, the heroes and heroines are portrayed as close as possible to physical perfection. In comic book worlds populated by these physical gods, those who do not meet the physical requirements of superhero work are often regulated to a supporting status at best.
This is a work in progress. At this point none of the sections are completed.
Due to the number of large comic panels and images used within each section, I have separated them by character and theme.
